The clip i have choosen is from 06:01 and the film is called Pirates of the Caribbean it is the last fighting scene in the film between Captain Jack Sparrow ( Johnny Depp) and Barbossa ( Geoffrey Rush).
In this clip I will be looking closly at the mise-en-scene and sound.
We first get a long shot of the fight to not only show the fight but to also show the audience the 3 holes that are letting in life this could symbolise hope, and could show that it will be an important part in this scene, we also get alot of close-ups, two shots and birds eye view shots. The costumes are old fashioned, ripped and torn aswell as dirty however the guards costume are smart, clean and bright this is to show the good and bad. Keria Knightlys costume is a mix of both this could be to show that she is half with the pirates and also half with the guards. She also wears red this symbolises red, danger, passion and blood. The only few props are the coin that Jack fiddles on his hand, the swords and the boats. The setting is dark, hidding, dirty, broken and surrounded by sea, the weather is dark and glommy the only source off light is from the moon we get a long shot when we see the moon to show this and how far they are away from help and other people.
The sound starts with fast pace music this pace chances between the different people, the music addes tension to the atmosphere. When it changes to the skeltons the sound is all crackling it sounds as if bones are being broken. The music stops when we go to the other pirates on the boat. Most of the sounds are enhanced such as the water splashing, the swords hitting one another and the coin being fiddled on Jacks hand. The tone of Jack Sparrows voice is cockey and cheeky as on the other hand Barbossa tone of voice to more evil, dark and scary this shows the difference between the two characters.
