The Descent- first 20 minutes.
The film opens with a view of mountains, their is a sound bridge of women laughing and screaming in the boat down a rocky waterfull it enhances how close the women are as friends and informs the audience that the women are active and sporty. The lighting is natural with the sound of the water enhanced to create a atmopshere for the audience. We then get a shot of a man and a little girl who shouts out 'mummy' this add's to tension as the audience worry what is about to happen.
As the 3 women fall down the waterfall it happens in slow motion this is forshadowing that can happen late in the film between the women. Music starts playing in the background it is non diegetic, the music is sad and slow this helps to add tension. The women continue to laugh with each other, we get a close up of the little girl smiling this effects the reader as we know something bad is about to happen but are unsual what is going to happen. We can tell by the way one of the woman and the husband of another woman look at each other that perhaps they are having an affair. The closenest between the little girl and her mum is shown.
When the family are in the car we hear diegetic sound of the car, we get a shot of the mother and daughter laughing and playing together and the father look ahead at the road this add's tension as now the audience realise something is about to happen. As the two cars hit each other the sound of the cash is enhance this shows the audience, the road they are driving on is surronded by trees. The camera then zooms out on the car to show the effect on the car.

My choosen clip.
The clip i have choosen is from 06:01 and the film is called Pirates of the Caribbean it is the last fighting scene in the film between Captain Jack Sparrow ( Johnny Depp) and Barbossa ( Geoffrey Rush).
In this clip I will be looking closly at the mise-en-scene and sound.
We first get a long shot of the fight to not only show the fight but to also show the audience the 3 holes that are letting in life this could symbolise hope, and could show that it will be an important part in this scene, we also get alot of close-ups, two shots and birds eye view shots. The costumes are old fashioned, ripped and torn aswell as dirty however the guards costume are smart, clean and bright this is to show the good and bad. Keria Knightlys costume is a mix of both this could be to show that she is half with the pirates and also half with the guards. She also wears red this symbolises red, danger, passion and blood. The only few props are the coin that Jack fiddles on his hand, the swords and the boats. The setting is dark, hidding, dirty, broken and surrounded by sea, the weather is dark and glommy the only source off light is from the moon we get a long shot when we see the moon to show this and how far they are away from help and other people.
The sound starts with fast pace music this pace chances between the different people, the music addes tension to the atmosphere. When it changes to the skeltons the sound is all crackling it sounds as if bones are being broken. The music stops when we go to the other pirates on the boat. Most of the sounds are enhanced such as the water splashing, the swords hitting one another and the coin being fiddled on Jacks hand. The tone of Jack Sparrows voice is cockey and cheeky as on the other hand Barbossa tone of voice to more evil, dark and scary this shows the difference between the two characters.

Harry Potter and Goblet of fire
I choosed to wrote about the sound for the clip from Harry Potter in this clip Voldemort and Harry met. During this clip the sound creates tension throughout, it grabs the audiences attention as they worry what is going to happen. The music decreases when Harry arrives in the Graveyard, but then increases when Harry relieases where he is. The sound is dark and creepy and addes to a glommy affect this also helps create tension.
The sound of the fire and knife with the blood being dropped is enhance this creates tension and is enhance to make sure the audience hear and notice what has happened. The sound gets louder as Voldemort comes back to human form, The sound decreases when the actors are talking, The tone in Harry's voice is worried and scared, when Harry screams its loud it also is a hint to the audience that Voldemort is near.
The music in the background is the same thoughout it just increases or decreases. Voldemorts tone is dark and evil it is the complete opposite to Harrys tone of voice. The background music gets faster and faster as Voldemort attacks Harry, both they screams are enhance. As they about to fight the music is one beat this also helps to create tension to the audience. The music then goes to fast beat.

The Other Boleyn Girl
The film i choose was the other Boleyn girl, this film is about Anne Boleyn and King Henry the 8th.
The part of the film i choose was the part before Anne Boleyn is killed, I choose to analysis this part in this film because i find it effective and expresses the emotion of the characters. The film is set in tutor times we can tell this by the castle and clothes the men and women are wearing the long dresses show they are royality. The music playing is sad and gloomy this addes to the sad atmosphere in the background we can hear the crowd cheering. Also the glommy weather creates the atmosphere off sadnees and that something bad is about to happen, the clouds are dark and dull.
The camera shots a birds eye view at the beggining as if we are looking down at what is happening, we then get the impression we are a member of the public standing and watching over peoples shoulders. The lighting is low light, the only light we get is from the sky and the few candles behind Anne Boleyn. As Anne is making her speech the music goes quite then loud after the speech. The music and Anne crying is the only sound we hear before she dies this creates a effect on the audience and creates sadnees and tension. Anne knees down this is another way we can see she is royality.
The colours used are black, red and white the colour black could be used to symbolise death, white to symbolise pure and innocent as Anne is innocent for the crime she is meant to have done, red to symbolise love and blood love as she falls in love with Henry and blood as she is about to die.
